Marvin Hoffman is a long time teacher and teacher educator. He has taught at grade levels from pre-K to graduate school in many parts of the country, including Vermont, New Hampshire, Texas and Illinois. He recently retired from the University of Chicago, where he served as the founding director of its first charter school and one of the founders of the University’s Urban Teacher Education Program. He has published five books as well as articles in numerous newspapers and magazines. He received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Harvard University.
